Take Down the Evil Dr. Scum in Dog Man: Bark in Action
Dog Man is ready to throw down, and fans can now get an early taste of the action. Mindscape and Dav Pilkey have revealed a new gameplay trailer for Dog Man: Bark in Action, alongside a free playable demo.
The game will also be part of Steam Next Fest, running from October 19 to 26. Players can jump into the demo now and get their first hands-on look at Dog Man’s latest adventure, including its couch co-op mode.
The story kicks off when Dr. Scum spreads Hypno Screens throughout the city, using them to mind-control innocent townsfolk. Naturally, Dog Man isn’t about to let that slide. Players will battle through 60 action-packed levels, take on Dr. Scum’s minions, and explore familiar locations such as Cat Jail and Robo-Time Industries.
The game lets players switch between Dog Man and his Supa Buddies, with 10 playable characters in total. Each character brings unique abilities to the table, making teamwork especially important during tougher encounters and boss fights. There are also Time Challenges and Mystery Levels to discover, along with unlockable outfits and Supa Gadgets earned by collecting sprockets and yarn.
With its comic-book visuals, chaotic action, and drop-in couch co-op, Dog Man: Bark in Action looks like a fun pick for fans of Dav Pilkey’s world. The free demo is already available, so there’s no reason to wait until launch to jump into the action. The game will launch on October 27, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5, so make sure to keep it on your radar.
