Chivalware Unleashes a New Steam Demo With Cyber-Medieval Combat

Join the Action in Chivalware

Chivalware has received a brand-new demo on Steam, giving players an early chance to experience its unusual mix of roguelite adventure, real-time combat, and tile-matching gameplay. Solo developer Regal Pigeon Games and publisher The Arcade Crew have also shared a closer look at how the game brings these different genres together ahead of its planned PC release this fall.

The new demo features three of Chivalware’s five playable characters: the Disk Knight, Tank Knight, and Jester Knight. Players can also try more than half of the game’s 80 disk-based weapons, along with a large selection of its 150-plus upgrades. The team has also added two of the four available biomes and several new challenge levels.

Set in a world where medieval fantasy meets cyberpunk aesthetics, Chivalware follows a knight tasked with overthrowing a king who has been driven mad by years of isolation and unchecked power. However, strange glitches begin appearing as players approach the castle, hinting that the kingdom’s problems run much deeper than they first appear.

The combat system is where Chivalware really stands out. Players must match tiles into groups of three to unlock and equip weapons while simultaneously dodging enemy attacks across a grid-based battlefield. Timing, positioning, and quick decisions all play a major role.

Chivalware looks like an interesting twist on tactical adventures, especially for players who enjoy games that reward both strategy and quick reflexes. If the concept has caught your attention, you can try the brand-new demo on Steam now and get an early taste of what’s coming this fall.
