Endless Runs Await in Underboard
Indie developer Headless has officially released The Endless Update for Underboard, delivering the game’s biggest free content update yet. The update expands the tactical team-building auto-battler roguelike with new systems, deeper synergies, and a challenging new endgame designed to give players more reasons to return.
Underboard lets players build and manage a team of characters while carefully positioning them against enemies. Players can level up their squad and enhance their builds with traits, items, and spells. Mana also plays an important role, allowing players to choose between saving it for passive bonuses or spending it to unleash powerful spells.
The Endless Update introduces several new features. Newly recruited characters now begin with passive skills based on their attributes, creating more opportunities for unique team combinations. Items and spells also now come with different quality tiers, which can increase their power and sometimes introduce entirely new effects.
The update also revamps Horizon Paths, giving these late-game locations custom visuals and unique enemy rosters instead of remixing content from earlier Zones. Meanwhile, players can unlock Boss Masteries by accessing attribute-specific dialogue options during Zone boss encounters.
The biggest addition is Endless Runs, which lets experienced players push their carefully crafted builds through Underboard’s toughest challenges yet.
Since its February 6, 2026 launch, Underboard has continued to expand, with an April update adding more characters, spells, items, and Masteries. With The Endless Update, Headless is taking that progression even further, giving players plenty of new ways to experiment, strategize, and test their limits.
