Underboard Just Received Its Rise of the Summoners Update

New Features Await in Underboard

Indie developer Headless has released the first free content update for Underboard, introducing a fresh wave of gameplay options and expanding the game’s strategic depth. Titled Rise of the Summoners, the update brings a brand-new archetype into the mix, giving players more ways to experiment with team compositions and builds.

The highlight of the update is the addition of Summoners, a versatile class designed to open up varied playstyles. These characters benefit from unique attribute-based bonuses, allowing players to shape their strategies in more flexible and creative ways. Whether focusing on synergy or raw power, Summoners add a new layer to team-building.

Alongside this major addition, the update also delivers substantial new content. Players can now access 7 new characters, 16 spells, 12 ancient items, and 12 masteries. These additions broaden the range of tactical choices available, making each run feel more dynamic and less predictable.

Headless has also taken steps to address balance concerns by tweaking some of the more dominant player strategies. While these adjustments aim to smooth out extreme power gaps, the developer notes that the newly introduced content will continue to shape and evolve the game’s meta over time.

For those unfamiliar, Underboard is a tactical team-building roguelike auto-battler that blends active and passive gameplay. Players draft teams, upgrade units, and stack traits to build powerful synergies while progressing through randomized maps and challenging boss encounters.

Overall, Rise of the Summoners marks a strong first update, adding meaningful content while setting the stage for future improvements.
