Become Julia’s Guide in the Swamp Daughter
Argentine indie developer Bicho Raro Games has officially revealed The Swamp Daughter, a narrative-driven 2.5D eco-apocalyptic adventure that blends exploration, survival, and emotional storytelling.
Inspired by the award-winning novel La Hija del Delta by Argentine author and game designer Alejandra Bruno, the game invites players into a haunting world shaped by environmental collapse and the lasting impact of humanity’s choices.
The story follows Julia, a young girl born during a global pandemic and raised with her family in a decaying river delta. As civilization fades and nature slowly reclaims the land, Julia dreams of creating a peaceful farming community and building a better future. To make that vision a reality, players will explore the swamp, collect valuable resources, and uncover forgotten relics. All while piecing together memories left behind by those who came before. Along the way, Julia must also confront a long-buried family secret that could change everything.
Players can already get their first taste of the adventure through a free Steam demo. It arrived as part of the Indie Dev Argentina Steam event running from August 1 to August 8. The demo is available in both English and Latin American Spanish.
In the full game, every choice will shape Julia’s relationships, influence the story, and determine the future. Set against the striking landscapes of Argentina’s Paraná River Delta, the swamp itself becomes a living, breathing character. It is full of hidden dangers, abandoned ruins, and clues waiting to be uncovered.
