Wage Large-Scale Wars in Raze the Realm
The solo indie game developer Saunder Games has announced that Raze The Realm is getting a Steam demo very soon. The news arrived today on Reddit’s Indie Sunday, and players can already wishlist the title ahead of its demo release. The game is expected to arrive on the platform sometime this year, so make sure to keep an eye out.
Blending large-scale warfare with roguelite progression, Raze The Realm puts players in command of massive battles while still allowing direct control over individual units. Each run revolves around building an army, collecting powerful relics, and creating unique synergies that can dramatically change your strategy. Alongside its roguelite campaign, the game will also feature Sandbox Mode, Daily Runs, mod support, and several additional gameplay options.
Players can choose from multiple factions, each offering its own roster of distinctive units and playstyles. From plague doctors hurling deadly vials to moose riders, giant ravens, and siege engines that launch beehives, every faction brings something different to the battlefield. Managing veteran regiments, replacing fallen troops, and adapting your army to the relics you discover will be key to surviving each campaign.
The game also features a non-linear world map where every captured territory grants valuable rewards such as relics, shops, or additional income. However, expanding too quickly will make future encounters more difficult, forcing players to carefully balance risk and reward.
Outside the main campaign, Skirmish Mode lets players create custom battles and even import image files as playable maps, adding plenty of replay value.
With its blend of tactical warfare, roguelite mechanics, and deep customization, Raze The Realm is shaping up to be an indie strategy game worth keeping an eye on later this year.
