Start Serving the Eager Customers in PlateUp!
Yogscast Games and It’s Happening are celebrating PlateUp!’s fourth anniversary with a major free content update that adds fresh challenges, new gameplay mechanics, and quality-of-life improvements for players across every platform.
Called the Turning Up The Heat Update, the expansion is available now and gives players more ways to tailor their restaurant adventures. Whether you enjoy the frantic chaos that PlateUp! is known for or prefer a more laid-back experience, the new update introduces features designed to suit both playstyles.

One of the biggest additions is the new Heat & Chill card system. Players looking for a greater challenge can push their kitchens to the limit with 10 Heat card difficulty levels, while those seeking a calmer experience can stack up to three Chill card levels to reduce the pressure during service. The update also introduces Fajitas as a brand-new menu item. Unlike other dishes, players will need to keep them hot until they serve them, as impatient customers may ask for a fresh batch if the food cools down.
For players who survive beyond Day 15 with Heat cards enabled, the new Greenhouse feature offers reusable plants that provide unique buffs during future runs. Meanwhile, the Garage has received a welcome overhaul with a cleaner crate storage system, alongside new firefighter and gardener cosmetic outfits. Nintendo Switch players also gain in-game achievement tracking with this update.
Available as a free download, the Turning Up The Heat Update is now live on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Epic Games Store, Xbox Game Pass, and PC Game Pass.
Four years after its launch and with more than three million copies sold worldwide, PlateUp! continues to grow with meaningful updates that keep its fast-paced kitchen chaos fresh for both newcomers and longtime fans.
