Indie developer The Flying Baguette and publisher HYPERSTRANGE have officially revealed Odd Town, a retro-inspired first-person mystery adventure coming to PC via Steam in September 2026. The announcement was made during the Awesome Indies Showcase, giving players a fresh look at its strange open-town sandbox.
Set in the unsettling town of Saint Sectaire, the game begins with your car breaking down, leaving you stranded in a place where residents are mysteriously disappearing. With little money and the police keeping a close eye on you, surviving means taking on jobs, meeting unusual locals, and uncovering the conspiracy hiding beneath the town’s quiet streets.
During the day, players can earn cash through honest work like baking bread or cleaning the local cinema. Those willing to bend the rules can also deal drugs, rob stores, or break into locked buildings using tools such as crowbars, pliers, and shovels. Every decision shapes how the townspeople react, as allies and enemies alike remember your actions.
Despite its compact size, Saint Sectaire offers a dense semi-open world packed with secrets, side quests, and memorable locations, including cemeteries, apartments, restaurants, and even a morgue. Staying out of jail is just as important as solving the mystery, and while escaping is possible, you can only use each escape method once before your luck runs out.
