Moomin: Midsummer Madness Is Venturing Onto PC, Switch, and Switch 2 This November

Moomin: Midsummer Madness Is Also Heading to Gamescom

Fans of the Moomins have a new cozy adventure to look forward to this year. Developer Crossbridge Game Studios and publisher Shochiku Games have announced that Moomin: Midsummer Madness will launch on November 12, 2026, for PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, priced at $19.99.

Inspired by Tove Jansson’s beloved 1954 novel Moominsummer Madness, the game follows Moomintroll and Little My as they navigate a flooded Moominvalley after a great flood sweeps through their peaceful home. Their journey leads them aboard a mysterious floating theatre filled with familiar faces, where players will uncover secrets and solve gentle point-and-click puzzles while searching for a way back home.

The adventure stays true to the charm of the original story while introducing brand-new episodes and characters. Its hand-painted visuals closely resemble Jansson’s iconic illustrations, bringing locations like the Moominhouse and the floating theatre to life with colorful, storybook-inspired artwork.

Designed as a relaxing experience for players of all ages, the game features dialogue-driven exploration, mini-games, environmental puzzles, and an optional hint system. Players can also switch between different characters, using each one’s unique abilities to overcome obstacles and progress through the story.

Ahead of launch, Moomin: Midsummer Madness will receive a special one-day playable demo at gamescom on August 27 in Hall 10.1, Booth F63, where attendees can also meet the lovable Moomin mascot.

With its heartfelt storytelling and cozy atmosphere, this looks set to be a delightful adventure for both longtime Moomin fans and newcomers alike.
