Colonize the Skies of Venus in Venusville
Orbit Start Studios and PlayWay SA have announced that Venusville: Prologue, the free introduction to their upcoming city-building game, will launch on August 5. The standalone prologue offers players an early chance to experience life above the clouds of Venus before the full game arrives.
Instead of building on solid ground, Venusville challenges players to construct and expand a floating robotic colony suspended high in the planet’s hostile atmosphere. Every structure affects the platform’s balance, meaning careful planning is essential to keep the colony stable while it drifts through dangerous skies.
Players will gather energy, mine valuable resources, and manage both human colonists and robotic workers to keep the settlement running efficiently. As the colony grows, maintaining self-sufficiency becomes increasingly important while facing the harsh conditions of Venus, including violent storms, corrosive acid clouds, and strange anomalies hidden within the planet’s dense atmosphere.
The prologue serves as a focused and replayable introduction to the game’s unique mechanics, giving players a taste of its blend of city-building, resource management, and survival gameplay. Along with learning how to construct and stabilize their floating base, players will also uncover hints that something mysterious may be lurking high above the clouds.
Key gameplay features include building a floating Venus colony, balancing structures to maintain buoyancy, harvesting resources and energy, managing colonists and robots, and surviving the planet’s extreme environmental hazards.
With its unusual setting and fresh take on the city-building genre, Venusville: Prologue looks like an intriguing preview that should give strategy fans plenty to explore ahead of the game’s full release.
