5TH Cell Reveals Broke Wizards, a New 6-Player Co-Op Game for PC

Step Inside the Shoes of Broke Wizards

5TH Cell, the studio best known for Scribblenauts, has officially revealed its next project, Broke Wizards, a brand-new co-op adventure heading to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The upcoming title shifts away from the studio’s puzzle roots, delivering a chaotic multiplayer experience where teamwork, magic, and paying rent all go hand in hand.

In Broke Wizards, one to six players step into the robes of Wizard roommates who must complete bizarre jobs to earn enough money before the end of the week. Their biggest problem isn’t just monsters or dangerous missions: it’s a giant Imp Landlord who threatens to eat them if they fail to pay rent on time.

The game promises a wide variety of magical gigs, ranging from saving towns from monster attacks to exploring eerie backrooms, racing enchanted ravens, and even playing a wizard-themed mobile game called Slitherin’. Combat also plays a major role, with powerful spells allowing players to defeat enemies while trying not to accidentally level entire neighborhoods and lose their paycheck.

When the workday is over, players can relax with friends by watching videos, playing instruments, competing in PvP matches, playing tag, or simply setting off fireworks. Broke Wizards also includes plenty of customization options, letting players unlock new outfits, hats, wings, magic boards, and even hatch Pocketdragon eggs for adorable companions.

Progression revolves around collecting Magic Keys through jobs, exploration, puzzles, and even paying rent. Gathering enough keys unlocks the treasure chest containing the deed to the wizards’ home, freeing them from their demanding landlord once and for all.

With its quirky humor, varied activities, and cooperative gameplay, Broke Wizards is shaping up to be an entertaining new direction for 5TH Cell and one worth keeping an eye on.
