The Lightkeepers Is Launching Globally on Meta Quest This September

Battle the Nightmares in The Lightkeepers

Squido Studio has officially revealed an exciting new chapter for its next project, teaming up with Spectral Games to bring The Lightkeepers to life. Known for titles like No More Rainbows and DigiGods, the studio is now stepping into darker territory with this cooperative VR action experience.

The announcement came out during the latest VR Showcase, where the team also confirmed that The Lightkeepers will launch globally on Meta Quest on September 10, 2026. Alongside the release date, players got a fresh look at gameplay and a new developer log, offering a deeper glimpse into the game’s vision.

Set in a haunting 1920s world inspired by Lovecraftian horror, The Lightkeepers puts players in a desperate fight against nightmarish creatures lurking in the dark. The core objective is simple but intense: survive until dawn, no matter the cost.

Players will explore eerie, mist-covered islands filled with hidden ruins, underground secrets, and valuable resources. Preparation plays a major role, as teams must gather supplies, craft tools like grenades and mines, and support one another to withstand relentless attacks. Combat is fast-paced and flexible, allowing players to slash, shoot, or strategize their way through chaos.

The game also features boat traversal across dangerous seas, hand-crafted islands with strong replay value, and a progression system that unlocks weapons and cosmetics over time. With more than 20 weapons and a heavy focus on atmosphere, The Lightkeepers is shaping up to be a tense and immersive VR experience for all immersive survival fans.
