Soulframe Devstream Drops First Look at Game-Changing June Update

Check Out What’s New in Soulframe

Digital Extremes has offered a fresh look at the evolving development of Soulframe during its latest Devstream, marking the final broadcast before TennoCon. The presentation focused on the upcoming “Preludes 15: Gods & Ghosts” update, set to roll out for free this June to players participating in the ongoing closed Alpha playtest on PC.

The update introduces a major overhaul to crafting and loot systems, aiming to deepen gear variety and player progression. Weapons dropped from enemies will now come fully crafted with randomized modifiers known as Tempers, making each discovery feel more distinct. Players can further refine their equipment by working with the blacksmith Tuvalkane, forging Ingots to re-roll these attributes.

Social features also take a step forward with the addition of gear trading and an in-game mail system, allowing players to connect more easily across the world of Alca. Combat encounters are being expanded as well, thanks to a revamped enemy patrol system, new siege variables, and the introduction of fresh threats such as the Ode’n Caeulam and Mendicant Reinbreaker.

On the gameplay side, a reworked Totem system now ties directly to the three Virtues: Courage, Spirit, and Grace, offering more strategic build options. This arrives alongside new weapons, including the massive Veilk axe, Ilverac longblade, and Vrusht-IX mace.

Looking ahead, the studio confirmed a new gameplay trailer will debut during Summer Game Fest on June 5, with more major reveals planned for TennoCon in July.

Overall, this update signals a faster pace of development and a stronger focus on community-driven improvements, as Soulframe continues to take shape ahead of its wider release.
