The Hell Clock Has Started Ticking
Hell Clock is officially making its way to consoles, with developer Rogue Snail confirming that the action RPG will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on July 14, 2026. On the same day, players across all platforms will also gain access to the game’s first major expansion, Cursed War.
This news came out during the Latin American Games Showcase, where we got to see more of the skills and things you can do in the expansion. The team was going to release the console version this June, but they decided to wait a bit so it does not come out at the same time as the recent Path of Exile’s Return of the Ancients update
Hell Clock is a mix of old action role-playing games and paced roguelikes, and it gets its ideas from the darker parts of Brazil’s history. The main game is about the War of Canudos and the expansion, Cursed War, tells more of the story by looking at the Paraguayan War. You play as Pajeu and fight your way through Purgatory and Hell as the clock keeps ticking away.
The expansion, Cursed War, adds a new part to the story, more than ten new places to explore, and a lot of new skills and things you can find that make your character stronger. It also makes the game harder with bosses, and it adds more things to do at the end of the game, like Endless Nightmares and the full Ascension mode.
With its unique historical backdrop and intense, build-driven gameplay, Hell Clock continues to carve out its own identity in the crowded ARPG space. The upcoming console launch alongside Cursed War could mark a strong next step for the game as it reaches a wider audience.
