Wishlist Crowned Sun Right Now
IndigoWare has officially revealed Crowned Sun, a free-to-play 3D isometric MMORPG that draws deeply from Yoruba, Candomblé, and Afro-Brazilian mythology. The game’s Steam page is now live, giving players their first look at what’s shaping up to be a culturally rich online world ahead of its planned Early Access debut.

Inspired by genre favorites like Ragnarok Online, Tree of Savior, and Final Fantasy XIV, Crowned Sun transports players to the Mirage Kingdom, where they step into the role of one of four distinct peoples: Human, Iwin, Egbere, or Ere. Each comes with its own identity, lore, and approach to combat, offering varied playstyles right from the start.
Character progression follows a familiar yet rewarding dual system. Players level up their Base Level through exploration and combat, while their Job Level defines specialization and growth paths. Alongside this, the game promises a full suite of MMO features, including parties, guilds, mounts, pets, and large-scale Spirit War battles. There are also instance challenges known as Spirit Trials, as well as social tools like mail systems and party finders.
One of the standout elements is the “Orisha Echoes” system, a progression mechanic inspired by the orixás, woven directly into the world and its storytelling. Visually, the game adopts a cel-shaded isometric style, paired with a soundtrack influenced by Afro-diasporic rhythms, helping it stand apart from typical fantasy MMOs.
Crowned Sun will be available across Windows, macOS, and Linux/SteamOS, with a full 1.0 launch currently targeted for 2027. IndigoWare also plans to involve the community closely during development, shaping balance, endgame content, and future regions together.
It’s still early days, but Crowned Sun already feels like a heartfelt project with a strong identity and plenty of potential.
