Crime Boss: Rockay City Update 21 Launches With New Story Mode and Major Improvements

New Story Awaits in Crime Boss: Rockay City

Global publisher 505 Games and developer INGAME Studios have released Update 21 for Crime Boss: Rockay City, and it is easily the game’s most significant update yet. Available now as a free download across all platforms, this release marks the title’s evolution into Version 2.0, arriving alongside the second anniversary of its Steam launch and a milestone of over one million copies sold.

Rather than being a routine content drop, Update 21 feels like a turning point shaped by years of player feedback. INGAME Studios has spent more than three years refining the experience, and this update brings together those efforts into something much more complete and accessible.

The highlight is a brand new story mode that offers a structured single player campaign. Players can now follow the rise of Travis Baker without the roguelite elements of the original mode. The removal of randomization and permadeath makes the narrative easier to experience, while both returning and new cutscenes help tie together key storylines, including those from previous DLC releases.

Beyond the story, two new missions expand the criminal playground of Rockay City. “Hell’s Kitchen” introduces a high-stakes heist scenario, while “Close Encounter” adds a more unusual twist with an extraterrestrial-themed challenge.

The update also strengthens the game’s modding support, with the studio continuing to spotlight community creations and explore ways to bring them to consoles in the future.

With Version 2.0, Crime Boss: Rockay City now feels more refined and complete, while still leaving room for what comes next in Travis Baker’s story. It is a clear sign that the developers are not done yet.
