Prepare to Step Inside the Dreams in The Peacock House
Harlequin Diver has announced that its latest title, The Dreams in the Peacock House, will launch on Steam this June, bringing a distinctive mix of classic text adventure mechanics and evolving narrative design.
The game delivers a short, atmospheric experience that places players inside a crumbling mansion filled with secrets. You play as Argus, who awakens after years of isolation within the Peacock House. As he regains awareness, he sets out to locate a series of mystic eyes hidden throughout the ruins, each one revealing fragments of his past and guiding his path forward.
The gameplay begins as a traditional text adventure, but it does not stay that way for long. As you discover each mystic eye, the game gradually introduces new elements, including point-and-click interactions and visual novel-style sequences. This steady evolution keeps the experience fresh and reinforces the story’s dreamlike progression.
Players can complete the game in roughly one to two hours, with a focus on exploration and light puzzle-solving rather than lengthy playtime. Along the way, the game introduces surreal touches, such as a fictional television show titled The Chaotic Elegance of the Bugsoiesie. It also features a memorable companion in Herbert, a duck who adds a strange but charming presence to the journey.
With its shifting gameplay and focused narrative, The Dreams in the Peacock House aims to offer a tightly crafted experience that stands out through creativity and atmosphere rather than scale.
