Feel the Rhythm in RobotzZz
FlatVoxelStudios has revealed that its upcoming rhythm-driven runner RobotzZz will be featured during Steam Next Fest, running from June 15 to June 22, 2026. Players will get a chance to try the game through a playable demo during the event, while press and content creators can already request early access.
RobotzZz takes a unique approach to the rhythm genre by making the entire game world react dynamically to music. Tracks don’t just play in the background; they actively shape the environment. Paths bend, pulse, and shift in sync with the beat, creating a constantly evolving experience. The game is controlled entirely with a mouse, allowing players to steer, jump, trigger abilities, and chain pickups seamlessly across three progressively intense stages: AWAKENING, SURGE, and EDGE. Each stage is tied to a specific brainwave state and BPM range, giving every run a distinct feel.
Adding further variety are three playable robots, each with its own abilities. BlitzZz focuses on speed, FreezZz introduces bullet-time mechanics, and PhazZz allows players to phase through obstacles. Combined with procedural elements, no two runs play out the same way. The game also features fully streamer-safe music, ensuring creators can share gameplay without copyright concerns.
“I wanted to experiment with the relation between brain wave states – alpha, beta, gamma – and their connection to visuals and music,” said Bojan Spasojevic, Game Director at FlatVoxelStudios. “Each stage of the game maps to one. I wanted music to do what it does inside your head when you’re focused, or excited, even relaxed. RobotzZz is our attempt at building that feeling instead of describing it.”
With its inventive mechanics and audio-driven design, RobotzZz stands out as a fresh take on rhythm games. The upcoming demo should give players a solid glimpse into its immersive, ever-shifting world.
