The Beloved Board Game Arrives in Digital Format Soon
Emerald City Games has officially revealed Red Rising Digital, a new adaptation of Stonemaier Games’ critically acclaimed board game inspired by Pierce Brown’s bestselling Red Rising series. The upcoming title brings the intense strategy and political maneuvering of the original tabletop experience to PC, giving fans a fresh way to explore its ruthless universe.
In Red Rising Digital, players enter a rigid color-based caste system where influence is everything. The goal is to build a powerful house of followers by chaining clever card combinations and outmaneuvering rivals. The digital version stays true to the original board game rules while introducing modern features. This includes smart AI opponents, seamless online multiplayer, and instant scoring systems. Visual enhancements and design elements pulled directly from the novels help recreate the distinct atmosphere of the series.
“Partnering on Red Rising is one of those rare moments when we get to work on something we’re huge fans of ourselves,” said Derek Day, CEO of Emerald City Games. “We approached Stonemaier because of our deep love for the game, and we’re thrilled to bring the full experience to PC.”
The game will feature all 112 unique cards from the tabletop version, alongside hand-management mechanics and combo-driven gameplay. Players can jump into solo matches or compete with up to six participants in multiplayer modes. Additional enhancements, including animated effects and custom voice work, aim to deepen immersion.
Red Rising Digital will launch on Steam in Q4 2026. With its blend of strategy and storytelling, it looks poised to capture both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
