Valorborn, the medieval fantasy sandbox RPG from Laps Games, is now available in Early Access on Steam, inviting players to begin shaping their own stories in a reactive and evolving world. The game is available for $24.99 and currently supports the English language.
The Early Access journey starts in Thareon, a fractured kingdom struggling in the aftermath of a devastating magical cataclysm. Magic, once powerful, is now feared and mistrusted, influencing both the world and its inhabitants. This setting forms the backdrop for a handcrafted sandbox filled with interactive locations, from caves and ruins to settlements and dangerous wilderness. NPCs live independently with their own routines and motivations, allowing the world to progress naturally regardless of player involvement.
At its core, Valorborn emphasizes freedom. There are no fixed classes, and progression is determined by the actions players take. Whether choosing the life of a mercenary, building a camp in the wild, trading goods, or exploring the unknown, every path is open. The current Early Access version introduces key systems such as combat, survival, exploration, and player-driven development, all within the kingdom of Thareon.
According to founder Onurhan Akçay, this release marks only the beginning. Future updates aim to expand the game with new factions, kingdoms, and deeper systems, alongside more character customization options. While not all features are available yet, players can already expect over 20 hours of gameplay.
