Test Your Friendship in Duo Quest
1+1 Studios has released a Steam demo for its upcoming co-op deckbuilding game, Duo Quest, giving players an early hands-on look at its unique mix of strategy and social interaction. Set in a vibrant pixel art world, the game focuses entirely on two-player cooperation while adding a relationship-driven twist to the experience.
In Duo Quest, players step into the roles of Pal-adins, two heroes who set out to defeat the Demon King and his three generals to restore peace. Players build decks, execute powerful card combos, and actively coordinate their strategies during combat. The game stands out with its “Bondbreaker” mode, which interrupts the adventure at intervals and challenges both players with personal and sometimes revealing questions about each other. The game presents these questions separately, creating surprising and often amusing moments that test how well players understand their partner.
The demo brings several new features. Players can jump straight into Quick Play mode for fast, one-off battles using their preferred themes. The game now includes two new nodes: a Deck Edit room that lets players refine their builds and a Cursed Artifact room that introduces powerful new items. The updated name input system allows both players to enter names simultaneously with controller support, making it easier to switch partners between runs. The developers have also added fresh questions to keep each session engaging and shortened the Bondbreaker mode to improve the overall pacing based on player feedback.
Since this is an early build, players may encounter minor issues, including UI bugs and a single save file limitation.
Overall, Duo Quest delivers a creative and engaging co-op experience that blends strategic gameplay with personal interaction.
