Adventure Awaits in Yerba Buena
Focus Entertainment and developer Mad About Pandas have revealed the release date for their upcoming puzzle platforming adventure Yerba Buena. The game will launch on May 26 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The announcement arrived alongside a brand new reveal trailer that premiered during the FutureGames Live Show. It offers players a first look at the game’s surreal world inspired by 1970s San Francisco.
Yerba Buena features a unique “Copy and Paste” mechanic that lets players manipulate the environment in unusual ways. Using a tool known as the Oscillator, players copy traits or movement patterns from objects and apply them to other elements in the world. This mechanic transforms the city into a giant playground of possibilities. Players can give a simple table the bounce of a trampoline, launch entire buildings across blocks, or remove solid walls completely. The design encourages experimentation and creative thinking as players tackle increasingly complex environmental puzzles.
The story follows Barb, a young woman who exists as an NPC inside an abandoned gameworld. Over time, she steps beyond her original role and becomes the unlikely protagonist of the story. Her version of San Francisco is facing multiple threats, including a mysterious glitch that spreads throughout the city and a dangerous biker gang tied to a deeper conspiracy.
As Barb and her friends investigate what is happening, players will uncover the truth behind the strange events. Yerba Buena launches May 26, 2026, and players can already wishlist or pre-order the game on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
