Pokémon Pokopia Sold Over 2.2 Million Copies Worldwide in Just Four Days

What an Amazing Feat From Pokémon Pokopia

The relaxing life simulation game Pokémon Pokopia has made a strong debut, with The Pokémon Company and Nintendo announcing that global sales have already surpassed 2.2 million units.

According to the announcement, the game reached the milestone within the first four days following the game’s launch on 5 March 2026 for the Nintendo Switch 2. Japan alone accounted for one million copies sold during this period, highlighting the strong early demand in the series’ home market.

While detailed regional figures have not been released yet, the game is already performing well in other territories. Pokémon Pokopia currently sits at the top of the eShop charts in major markets such as the United States and the United Kingdom. Reports have also suggested that physical retail stock has struggled to keep up with demand, and the title’s early momentum has reportedly contributed to a rise in Nintendo’s share price.

The performance is particularly notable considering that Pokémon Pokopia is both a Switch 2 exclusive and a spin-off rather than a mainline entry in the long-running franchise. For comparison, Pokémon Legends: Z-A reportedly sold 5.8 million copies in its first week across Switch and Switch 2, including around 3.89 million units on Switch 2.

Among other major Switch 2 exclusives, Kirby Air Riders has sold 1.76 million copies, Donkey Kong Bananza has reached 4.25 million, and Mario Kart World leads the pack with over 14 million sales. Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch 2 itself has surpassed 17 million units sold worldwide.

With such a promising start, Pokémon Pokopia is already shaping up to be one of the platform’s notable early successes. If you want to learn more about it before diving in, then check out our official review right here!
