Once Human Console Closed Beta Launches March 26 With Major Deviant Update

Once Human Heads to Consoles

NetEase Games has announced a major milestone for its post-apocalyptic survival title Once Human, confirming that the game’s first console Closed Beta will run from March 26 to April 8 (PT). This upcoming test will arrive alongside the Version 2.3.26 “Deviant Update,” bringing a fresh wave of unsettling enemies and new gameplay systems.

The limited-time beta will be available across PlayStation and Xbox platforms, including PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. Notably, the test will feature full cross-platform support between PlayStation and Xbox users, allowing for a shared multiplayer experience across both ecosystems.

Players who want to participate can register through the official Discord community. Selected participants will receive a “Console Pioneer” role, along with beta access instructions. While all progress made during the test will be wiped once it ends, players will earn an exclusive Closed Beta Pack. These rewards will carry over permanently, and players can claim them on the same account when the game officially launches on consoles or other platforms.

The Version 2.3.26 update introduces several new mechanics centered around dangerous Deviants. The Devourer encounter now uses a sound-based system, allowing players to manipulate its behavior using audio cues. Meanwhile, the Mimic Tree blends into forests and punishes careless resource gathering with disorienting effects before revealing its true form. Another addition, the Sea Slug, lurks underwater and attacks with a deadly ambush, forcing players to rely on teamwork or quick thinking to survive.

With these additions, the upcoming beta offers a deeper look at the evolving threats within Once Human.
