Build the Best Troop in Legion Draft
Solo developer Melos, also known as Shicheng Zhou, has officially launched the Steam store page for Legion Draft, a fantasy-themed auto battler focused on strategic legion building and asynchronous PvP battles. The Steam page went live today, alongside the release of a new trailer, giving players their first proper look at the upcoming title and allowing them to wishlist the game ahead of its planned launch.
Legion Draft is a hand-drawn card autobattler that draws inspiration from the gameplay style of Super Auto Pets. The core loop revolves around drafting units, assembling a legion, and deploying troops into battle. Once combat begins, players watch their carefully constructed formations clash automatically. Battles take place in async PvP format, meaning players compete against saved lineups created by other players rather than fighting in real-time matches. This design keeps the emphasis on strategy and roster building.
One of the game’s defining features is its economic system. Instead of representing individual characters, cards function as troop stacks that can grow stronger through additional investment. Players must decide whether to spend their gold on economic cards that generate resources over time or strengthen their army immediately by investing in combat units. Five different factions are currently planned for development. Each one will come with its own unique rules and playstyle to expand strategic variety.
According to Melos, the project aims to bring the large-scale strategic thinking found in RTS and 4X games into a faster, more accessible autobattler format. Legion Draft is scheduled to release on PC via Steam sometime in 2026. So, make sure to wishlist it to be among the first ones to enter the battle.
