Fortified Space has officially launched into Steam Early Access, with solo developer Nightsail Game Studios bringing the project to players at an accessible price of $3.99. The release marks the arrival of a long-anticipated title that blends nostalgic design inspired by classic Flash games with modern gameplay systems.
Fortified Space combines top-down space simulation with tower defense mechanics, creating a layered gameplay loop. Players command a starship as they travel across the galaxy, taking on an alien threat that spans multiple planets. Each mission often begins with intense combat in orbit, where players rely on tools like railguns, shields, and point-defense systems to secure control of space.
