Wish Me Well Is Casting Its Spell on Steam Early Access Next Week

A Magical Experience Awaits in Wish Me Well

Indie studio Starrow Castles has announced that its debut title, Wish Me Well, will launch in Early Access on Steam on February 16th, 2026. It is a top-down roguelite that centers on creative spellcrafting and weapon customization. Players explore procedurally generated dungeons hidden within the enigmatic Magic Well, descending into imaginative, book-born realms teeming with ink creatures and formidable bosses.

At the heart of the experience is a unique magic system. Rather than relying on traditional weapons, players build their own “magic gun” by combining spells and scrolls discovered during each run. They can also chain and modify these spells to produce a wide range of effects. This ranges from precise, high-impact projectiles to elaborate cascading attacks designed around individual playstyles. The system encourages experimentation, rewarding players who discover powerful and unexpected combinations.

Development has spanned approximately 18 months, with the entire project crafted by just two developers. Despite its small team, the game has already generated notable interest ahead of release. Gameplay videos shared by content creators have accumulated thousands of views and enthusiastic feedback. The official trailer was also showcased on IGN’s GameTrailers channel, placing the indie project alongside major studio titles.

The Early Access phase will focus on expanding the game’s content, including new scrolls, items, dungeon rooms, and ongoing balance adjustments shaped by community input.

Wish Me Well will launch at $4.99, with a 10% discount available during the first nine days.
