Cointinue Games, the indie studio behind the critically acclaimed narrative experience Midnight Ramen and the productivity RPG Deadline Savior, has officially unveiled the Steam store page for its newest title, Midnight Therapy.
Set within the studio’s expanding “Prometheus” universe, Midnight Therapy blends character-driven storytelling with inventive “mind-diving” mechanics to explore the contradictions, pressures, and quiet despair of modern life. While Midnight Ramen used food to comfort souls burdened by regret, Midnight Therapy shifts the focus to a crowded yet deeply isolating metropolis where emotional wounds fester beneath everyday routines.
Players step into the role of Pyrra Gray, a highly sought-after therapist known for her steep fees, clinical efficiency, and flawless results. Behind her professional image lies a dangerous secret: Pyrra achieved her success through magic, forcibly erasing her patients’ negative emotions rather than truly healing them. When a critical incident seals her powers, Pyrra loses her shortcut to success and must confront her work honestly for the first time.
With no magic to rely on, Pyrra faces a relentless flow of emotionally fractured patients while struggling under mounting financial pressure. Players must carefully analyze dialogue, uncover hidden truths, and gather conversational topics from across the city to guide patients toward self-realization. When cognitive dissonance overwhelms a patient, Pyrra can enter their subconscious, navigating 2.5D mental landscapes where trauma takes physical form and logic becomes a weapon.
Survival remains a constant concern, as rent, medical bills, and limited time force difficult moral choices. Along the way, Pyrra forms an unexpected partnership with Homura, a midnight ramen vendor who offers wisdom about reading the human heart in exchange for magical lessons.
