Escape a Collapsing Volcanic Island in Into the Fire
Starward Industries has revealed a new gameplay trailer for its upcoming cataclysmic extraction survival title, Into the Fire. Titled “What We Bring Back – Into the Fire Gameplay Trailer,” the video debuted during IGN Fan Fest and offers an extended look at the game’s core mechanics, high-stakes rescue missions, and ever-changing volcanic setting.
The trailer centers on the game’s intense extraction loop, where players must complete rescues under relentless time pressure. Rather than simply surviving the disaster, the experience focuses on what and who players manage to save. The footage showcases a new Ruins location, retro-inspired tactical extinguishing tools, and a dynamic volcanic landscape shaped by flowing lava, ash storms, and collapsing structures. Every mission forces players to make split-second, life-or-death decisions.
Into the Fire combines extraction-based survival systems with cinematic, high-intensity storytelling. Players take on the role of a rescuer stranded on a collapsing volcanic island, balancing risk and reward while trying to save as many lives as possible before escaping.
According to Michał Obłoj, Marketing & Business Development Manager at Starward Industries, the trailer captures the essence of the game: pressure, responsibility, and the emotional weight behind every rescue. Players cannot stop the catastrophe, but they can choose what they bring back.
In addition to the trailer, the studio has opened a new wave of community playtests via the game’s official Discord server. These sessions will focus on refining the extraction loop, rescue mechanics, and the balance between exploration and survival, allowing players to directly influence development.
