The Hyge Is Getting Bigger for 007 First Light
IO Interactive, the award-winning studio behind the globally acclaimed Hitman franchise, has teamed up with Amazon MGM Studios to unveil an extended trailer for 007 First Light during IGN Fan Fest. The new footage offers a closer look at Grammy Award winner Lenny Kravitz in the role of the enigmatic Pirate King Bawma.
Bawma was first introduced at The Game Awards, but this latest trailer delves deeper into his character in 007 First Light. It highlights his dramatic first encounter with a young James Bond and Bond’s MI6 mentor, John Greenway. The new scenes emphasize the game’s cinematic ambition while deepening the portrayal of Bawma as the charismatic yet unpredictable leader of a vast black-market arms network. Modeled with Kravitz’s voice and likeness, Bawma emerges as a formidable adversary who plays a pivotal role in shaping Bond’s early journey.
Just in case you haven’t heard about the game, 007 First Light is a third-person action-adventure game blending IO Interactive’s signature stealth mechanics with dynamic combat. It aims to present a fully original reimagining of Bond’s origin story, placing players in the role of a 26-year-old Royal Navy air crewman recruited into MI6. As Bond travels across the globe, players will navigate a world of espionage, encountering allies and enemies while choosing to overcome challenges through brute force, cunning strategy, or suave charm.
007 First Light launches on May 27, 2026. Pre-order details are available at its official website, with pre-orders on Nintendo Switch 2 limited to physical editions.
