Gothic 1 Remake Is Launching This June on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC

Return to the Valley of the Mines in Gothic 1 Remake

The Gothic 1 Remake will launch on June 5, 2026, bringing players back to the Colony with a modern reimagining of the cult classic. From the start, the team at Alkimia Interactive set out to faithfully recreate the raw magic that made the original Gothic unforgettable 25 years ago. That meant preserving the gritty camp atmosphere, the living open world, the harsh wilderness, and the feeling of being a nameless outsider struggling to survive.

Developer Alkimia Interactive focused on capturing the spirit of the original in every detail. The team refined character faces to reflect the rough personalities of the Old Camp, reworked voice performances to deliver the right gravelly tone, and updated features to feel modern while staying true to Gothic’s rugged identity. Rather than aiming for “good enough,” the developers committed to making every corner of the world look and feel authentically Gothic. Achieving that vision required far more iteration and polish than a typical project.

As a result, the game will not arrive early in 2026, nor will it slip beyond its window. Instead, it is officially set for release on June 5, 2026. The developers credit the passionate Gothic community for helping shape the project. From enthusiastic hype posts to critical feedback and heated forum debates, fan engagement pushed the team to deliver a remake worthy of the original’s legacy.

Gothic 1 Remake launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with digital pre-orders coming soon. You can also check out the official release date trailer below to get a glimpse of the adventure ahead.
