Winnie’s Hole Is Here
Winnie’s Hole is now available on Steam Early Access, offering a roguelite experience with a strikingly unusual twist: you don’t play the hero, you play the disease. Developed by Twice Different, the game invites players to step inside the body and mind of Winnie, a once-huggable host whose fate now rests in the hands of an evolving infection.
Often described as a “viral roguelite” in the most literal sense, Winnie’s Hole turns infection into progression. Players explore Winnie’s internal systems and spread a virus cell by cell using tetromino-style shapes. They place these shapes strategically within Winnie’s brain, where they trigger chains of actions that play out automatically. This approach delivers fast-paced, dynamic gameplay that blends real-time spectacle with the careful planning of a turn-based strategy game.
The core loop remains accessible while offering deep strategic depth. Each run pushes players to adapt their viral build, experiment with new combinations, and react to the consequences of their decisions as Winnie’s condition evolves. By bending genres, the game introduces a fresh, intuitive format that clearly sets it apart from traditional roguelites.
Winnie’s Hole launches at a price of $15 USD, with regional pricing available. To mark its Early Access release, the developers are offering a 15% discount for the first two weeks. Players can also purchase a bundle with Twice Different’s earlier title, Ring of Pain, and receive an additional 10% discount.
Throughout Early Access, Winnie’s Hole will continue to grow and change, with regular updates planned based on community feedback. You can check out the detailed roadmap outlining what players can expect as the infection spreads further.
