Try 2 Hours of Whispers of the Luminaries
VN Heaven is pleased to announce the release of the Whispers of the Luminaries demo, now available on Steam. Inspired by Danganronpa and Famicom Detective Club, this upcoming idol-themed detective mystery visual novel places players inside the polished yet unforgiving world of the idol industry, where a rising star has vanished under suspicious circumstances.
Whispers of the Luminaries blends the glamour of the stage with a darker investigative narrative. Players take on the role of a detective uncovering the truth behind the disappearance while navigating a world shaped by ambition, rivalry, and carefully guarded secrets. Beneath the bright lights and carefully maintained public images, hidden motives and personal struggles drive the mystery forward.
The demo introduces the game’s core gameplay loop, combining hands-on detective work with character-driven storytelling. Players gather clues by interrogating suspects, asking focused questions, and examining crime scenes. They then use collected evidence to solve deduction-based puzzles that reward careful observation and logical thinking.
Outside of investigations, players can spend time in free time events using a world map to visit various locations. These moments allow players to interact with other characters, improve key stats, and learn more about the idols beyond the spotlight. Player choices directly shape friendships and romance paths, adding emotional weight to every interaction. Players can also continue working on the case from the detective’s office by choosing which leads to pursue and guiding the investigation’s direction.
The Whispers of the Luminaries demo is available now on Steam and offers around two hours of gameplay. VN Heaven also looks forward to sharing more updates as development progresses.
