Take Part in 5v5 Raids in Highguard
Highguard players have been asking for larger-scale match-ups, and developer Wildlight is finally testing the waters. Starting today and running through the weekend, the game introduces an experimental five-on-five Raid playlist. While Wildlight stresses that this mode does not replace the core three-on-three Raids, it could evolve into a permanent feature if player feedback proves positive.
The new 5v5 Raids adjust several core rules to accommodate the expanded teams. Each side now has 10 shared lives instead of the usual six, and respawn timers last slightly longer. These changes aim to create more breathing room for planting or defusing generator bombs and to better support the increased chaos of larger battles. Wildlight notes that although the patch includes general optimization improvements, players should not expect better performance specifically for 5v5 matches at this stage.
The developer also clarified a current limitation: the Firing Range does not yet support five-player squads. As a result, the Play button will remain disabled for parties larger than three when attempting to access that mode.
Alongside the new playlist, the update adds Soul Well, a new base described as a dark relic from a forgotten age. According to the game’s lore, the Iron Vigil has prepared this haunting construct for live combat scenarios “where the dead still speak.” Soul Well is available across all modes.
The patch also expands graphical options. Console players now gain access to anisotropic material toggles, previously exclusive to PC, while both platforms receive a new motion blur toggle.
Looking ahead, Highguard design lead Mohammad Alavi reaffirmed Wildlight’s commitment to consistent updates, confirming a full content calendar for 2026 and a steady stream of new additions in the months to come.
