Escape the Lab in Gooey
Turbo Pixel Studios has officially launched Gooey, a sticky precision platformer starring a stretchy, lab-grown green hero. Available on PC and Mac via Steam, Gooey challenges players to slingshot, swing, and splat their way through a delightfully hazardous world built on physics-driven movement.
Born from questionable scientific priorities, Gooey is the result of researchers deciding that creating a cool little green goo creature was more fun than changing the world. Players put this elastic experiment through its paces across more than 50 tightly designed agility courses. Each one of them demands sharp reflexes, clever momentum control, and a mastery of stretching abilities.
Levels push players to race past crackling electric barriers, leap over bottomless pits, and blast through high-speed tubes, all in pursuit of a glowing beacon at the finish. By understanding and exploiting the laws of physics, players can chain together stylish combos that turn movement into a science. Completionists can aim for “goold” status by collecting the L, A, and B letters hidden throughout each stage.
Beyond the main campaign, Gooey offers near-endless replayability thanks to its built-in Level Editor and full Steam Workshop support. Players can create and share everything from relaxed obstacle playgrounds to brutal speedrunning gauntlets, tapping into a growing library of community-made challenges.
“IT’S ALIVE! We’re proud to finally unleash our little green guy upon the world,” said Ben Darling, Turbo Pixel Studios co-founder. “Gooey is a manifestation of our love of classic arcade platformers, refined into a quality 2.5D experience! We’re looking forward to everyone’s custom-created levels and the absurd challenges they’ll bring.”
Gooey is available now on PC and Mac via Steam for $11.99 USD, with a 10% introductory discount.
