Join the Races in Go Kart Island
Grumpy Pizza Games and Ant Workshop have officially launched Go Kart Island on Nintendo Switch, bringing its charming open-world kart racing adventure to Nintendo’s hybrid console. To celebrate the release, the game is available with a 20% launch discount for a limited time. Players can also check out the newly released Nintendo Switch trailer to see the action in motion.
Go Kart Island blends classic kart racing with an open-world structure and a lighthearted story mode. Players step into the hooves of Lachlan, a determined highland cow with dreams of becoming a Go Kart Champion by winning the legendary BIG RACE. Standing in his way is the island’s corrupt Mayor, who insists on a hefty 1,000-coin “entry fee.” To reach that goal, players must drift, boost, and use a variety of items while taking part in races, time trials, and other unique challenges.
The story mode features 34 distinct events and more than 150 collectables hidden throughout the open world. Events span six different gameplay styles, including traditional races, chases, item hunts, and delivery missions. Along the way, players will meet 32 different animals, ranging from giraffes and turtles to sheep. They can even chat or race against these characters to unlock them.
For those seeking an extra challenge, 84 optional challenges encourage players to aim for gold trophies. This adds an extra layer of replayability and new twists to familiar events. A selection of items, environmental obstacles, and even a fully honkable kart horn round out the experience.
Originally released on Steam on November 10, 2025, Go Kart Island currently holds a “Positive” rating, with 100% of its 27 user reviews recommending the game.
