Go Kart Island Reveals Its Release Date for Steam and Switch

Welcome to the Go Kart Island

Grumpy Pizza Games and Ant Workshop Ltd have revealed that Go Kart Island will make its way to Nintendo Switch on Friday, 9 January 2026. Before that, the Steam version, self-published by Grumpy Pizza Games, will launch on Monday, 10 November 2025. Fans can get a glimpse of the game through the recently released trailer showcasing its vibrant world and playful racing action.

Go Kart Island combines open-world exploration with kart racing, offering players a story-driven experience. In the story mode, players follow Lachlan, a determined highland cow, as he chases his dream of becoming a Go Kart Champion by winning the BIG RACE. However, the island’s corrupt Mayor demands an entry fee of 1,000 coins before Lachlan can compete. Players navigate this challenge by drifting, boosting, and using various items across multiple events.

The game features a full story mode comprising 34 events and over 150 collectibles hidden throughout the open world. Players will encounter six types of events, including races, time trials, chases, item-finding, and delivery tasks, interacting with 32 different animals such as giraffes, turtles, and sheep. For those seeking extra challenges, 84 events offer gold trophies, providing replayability and unique twists on completed story mode activities. Go Kart Island also includes a range of items to hinder opponents and obstacles to dodge, along with a fully honkable kart horn for extra fun.

Players can sample the game before release through a demo available on Steam, which features the first nine events of Story Mode. The demo will also feature in October’s Next Fest, giving fans an early taste of the island’s racing adventures.

The game promises a colorful, engaging, and whimsical kart racing experience that blends story, exploration, and competitive fun for both new players and seasoned racers.
