Become a Young Adventurer in Verdant
Megabit and Tiny Roar have unveiled their new title, Verdant, during the Wholesome Snack showcase. This coming-of-age adventure is set in a world slowly healing after a devastating war. Known for Lou’s Lagoon, Tiny Roar teams up with Megabit to create an experience that mixes survival, exploration, and personal growth as players follow Sprout, a young adventurer trying to understand his place in a transformed world.
Verdant transports players to a vibrant post-apocalyptic landscape where nature has taken control. Mutated plants and animals thrive among untouched traces of 1980s human culture, creating a setting that feels both familiar and strange. Sprout begins his journey in search of food, useful items, and a sense of belonging. During his travels, he discovers an unusual infection that grants him the power to transfer life essence to or from the environment. This ability becomes central to the adventure because every decision has consequences. Players must weigh the importance of survival against the impact their actions have on the world around them.
Maurice Hagelstein, co-founder of Tiny Roar and Director of Verdant, describes the game as a hopeful story about growing up. He explains that Sprout’s path is filled with moments that challenge players to think carefully about their choices. The world holds memories of the past and hints of what the future might become, creating an atmosphere shaped by reflection and responsibility. According to Hagelstein, the team looks forward to sharing more details as development continues.
Verdant launches on Steam soon, and players can wishlist it now. Germany’s Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space funded the project, helping Tiny Roar bring this imaginative world to life.
