Alaska Gold Fever Released a New Gameplay Trailer at the Best Indie Games Winter Showcase

Become a Gold Miner in Alaska Gold Fever

Alaska Gold Fever returns to the spotlight with a fresh gameplay trailer revealed during The Best Indie Games Winter Showcase 2025. Hosted by Clemmy, the showcase presents new footage that offers an extended look at the game’s mechanics, environments, and overall tone. Alongside the trailer, the developers have released updated in-game screenshots that show more of the world, characters, and visual style.

As part of a lineup that highlights standout indie titles from around the world, the game continues to build interest thanks to its historical setting and survival elements. Alaska Gold Fever takes players to Alaska in 1896, placing them in the role of a miner during the height of the gold rush. The journey leads through thick forests, towering mountains, and open grasslands while searching for gold. The main goal is to rise from a struggling prospector to one of the richest individuals of the era.

Survival plays a major role throughout the experience. Players must prepare for blizzards, heavy rainfall, and encounters with dangerous wildlife such as wolves. Human threats are also present, since rival miners and roaming bandits can strike without warning.

The core gameplay focuses on exploration and mining. Players dig tunnels, search for natural caverns, and extract gold with tools that include picks, dynamite, and structural supports that help prevent collapses. Proper equipment is essential, from warm clothing to food and mining supplies. Players will travel across the land using dog sled management, all while caring for the dogs that pull the sled. Treasure maps lead to hidden rewards scattered across the landscape, adding extra challenges and opportunities.

Alaska Gold Fever is planned for a 2026 release on Steam.
