Vermintide 2 Hits 25 Million Players
Vermintide 2 shows no sign of slowing down, even after more than seven years of relentless battles and grim triumphs. As part of Fatshark’s 10 Years of Tide celebration, the studio briefly made the dark-fantasy co-op classic free to keep. The result felt like a tidal surge of enthusiasm, with 5.9 million downloads washing in over just four days. Added to years of steady growth, the game has now welcomed over 25 million players since its 2018 debut, a milestone that reflects a community still eager to face the Skaven and Rotblood hordes.
Design Director Joakim Setterberg shared the team’s appreciation for this enduring support from the community. He expressed, “A decade on and players are still charging into Vermintide 2, that’s amazing to witness. At Fatshark, our goal has always been to make games that people love to play, and this weekend proved that the passion endures.”

Players who kept swinging their blades enjoyed Return to the Reik, a newly revived and expanded mission from the first Vermintide. The update invites players to board the Dawnrunner once again for tense, boat-driven encounters that echo old memories while introducing fresh, cinematic co-op moments.
Even if the free-to-keep window has passed, newcomers aren’t left adrift. The base game and its DLC packs are currently available at discounts reaching up to 90% as part of the ongoing festivities.
The anniversary celebrations are also flowing into Darktide, where fans will soon hear a familiar presence. Tim Bentnick, known across the series, returns as the voice of Darktide’s Ogryn class, adding another thread of continuity to the expanding Tide legacy. More details are on the horizon, promising even richer content ahead. So, make sure to keep an eye out for future updates.
