Start Your Journey in Octopath Traveler 0
Square Enix has announced that a free demo for Octopath Traveler 0 is now available following its reveal during Sony’s State of Play Japan broadcast. Players can download the demo on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. All progress made in the demo will carry over to the full version when the game officially launches on December 4. The demo introduces players to the opening moments of Octopath Traveler 0, allowing them to create a custom protagonist and begin a personal journey after the destruction of their hometown. It offers up to three hours of gameplay, including the Prologue and the first chapters of the Master of Wealth, Master of Power, and Master of Fame storylines. Players can also explore the Kindlers of the Flame story arc, which showcases the new Town Building system that lets them restore the ruined town of Wishvale.
Set in the realm of Orsterra, Octopath Traveler 0 follows a tale of restoration and retribution centered around the divine rings. The game retains the series’ signature features, including the HD-2D visual style, the Break and Boost combat system, and the diverse Path Actions that allow players to interact with NPCs in unique ways. For the first time, players can customize their own main character and rebuild their hometown through new gameplay elements. Expanding on the world introduced in Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, this entry reimagines familiar storylines and adds new layers of narrative depth, offering both new and returning fans a fresh adventure in Square Enix’s beloved world of Orsterra.
