A New Dimension Awaits in Echo Generation 2
Cococucumber has announced Echo Generation 2, a fresh chapter in its award-winning sci-fi RPG series, arriving in 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud, Xbox Game Pass, and PC through Steam. The team also premiered a new trailer during the Xbox Partner Preview Showcase, offering the first look at the studio’s next adventure.
To mark the reveal, the original game returns in the form of Echo Generation: Midnight Edition, which includes every update released so far, along with fast travel, twelve additional languages, an enhanced combat system, and a notable visual upgrade. Midnight Edition is currently discounted by sixty-five percent on Xbox and forty percent on Steam until November 25th. Those who already own the base game on Xbox will automatically receive the new version at no extra cost.
Echo Generation 2 continues the story but shifts the focus to Jack, an ordinary dad who finds himself drifting through an unfamiliar dimension far from Maple Town. As he searches for a path home, he forms new alliances, encounters unusual extraterrestrial threats, and uncovers pieces of his missing years scattered across a vibrant and strange cosmic landscape.
Combat receives a complete overhaul, transforming the familiar turn-based structure into a dynamic deckbuilding system with more than one hundred unique cards. These cards allow players to form creative combinations, pull off powerful attacks, and call in companions during battle. The world draws inspiration from films and games of the eighties and nineties, wrapped in the studio’s signature colorful voxel aesthetic.
Game Director Martin Gauvreau shared that the team is excited to expand the Echo Generation universe and to build on community feedback gathered over the years.
