Construct Megastructures in Astroneer
System Era has released Megatech, the second major DLC for the acclaimed space sandbox Astroneer. Available today, this new expansion opens up a fresh chapter for the game’s large community of explorers by adding powerful tools that reshape how players design, build, and grow their planetary operations. The launch also arrives alongside a free update for all players and marks the arrival of a native PS5 version.
Megatech introduces large-scale construction projects that allow players to assemble impressive new structures that link directly with existing systems. The DLC focuses on expanding creative potential and encouraging players to experiment with more ambitious designs that transform their bases. It represents a significant step forward for the game’s long-running commitment to exploration and discovery.
The DLC arrives on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S for 9.99 USD. The Nintendo Switch release is planned for the near future. Players who already own the PlayStation 4 version can upgrade to PlayStation 5 at no cost.
Megatech’s features include the Orbital Platform, a massive structure that lets players create custom asteroids and position them in orbit around any chosen planet. The Biodome offers a new approach to cultivating alien flora through expandable modules that support seed collection and produce farming. The Museum provides a dedicated space to showcase the productivity of player bases while offering rewards and perks in exchange for spare resources, power, seeds, and bytes.
Alongside the DLC, all Astroneer owners gain access to a free update that adds new structures, new resources, and a series of quality of life improvements designed to refine the overall experience.
