Check Out What Awaits in Pengame
Indie studio Rogue Relay has unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Pengame, their hand-drawn 2D shooter platformer. The trailer dives deep into the game’s intense combat, showcasing chaotic encounters filled with enemies, imaginative weapons, and dynamic abilities, all brought to life through fluid, frame-by-frame animation.
Originally debuting on Steam Greenlight back in 2013, Pengame stood out for its distinctive artistic style and entirely hand-animated visuals. Its long development period has been spent refining both the fast-paced action and the meticulous craftsmanship behind every frame. With the recent reopening of its Steam Store page, players can now wishlist the game as it prepares for release.
At its core, Pengame is a side-scrolling shooter that turns a simple notebook into a battlefield of creativity. Players take control of Stickman, a heroic doodle born from the imagination of a bored student. The student’s sketchbook holds a world teeming with monsters and challenges. However, he shatters its peace when he accidentally draws his worst creation yet, an abomination known only as The Teacher. Armed with quick reflexes and a collection of hand-drawn weapons, Stickman must fight through pages of destruction to erase the mistake that threatens his world.
With its handcrafted animation and nostalgic concept, Pengame blends artistic passion with explosive gameplay, delivering a world that feels as lively as the imagination that created it.
