DarkBear Studios has officially launched its debut title, Curiosity, now available on Steam and Steam Deck. This challenging yet heartfelt climbing adventure combines the frustration and thrill of rage-inducing platformers with a cinematic story that explores perseverance, mystery, and emotional discovery.
In Curiosity, players take on the role of a small but determined cat making a dangerous climb back home. Each jump demands patience, skill, and precision, as a single mistake can send you plummeting back down. With nine lives to lose and real consequences for failure, the journey becomes a test of both reflexes and resilience. Along the way, players uncover hidden lore, discover new areas, and experience a world filled with secrets and quiet beauty.
Inspired by games like Only Up and Getting Over It, Curiosity reimagines the vertical climbing genre by introducing a story-driven experience within a hand-crafted world. Players will encounter traditional platforming features such as collectibles, checkpoints, and hidden shortcuts, creating a balance between challenge and exploration. Each fall and recovery adds weight to the narrative, making every small success feel meaningful.
