Start the Fight in Sword Hero
Crytivo and ForestWare have released the Sword Hero Combat Arena demo on Steam as part of the Sword Celebration event. Sword Hero is shaping up to be a bold open-world RPG inspired by titles such as Gothic and Kenshi. It promises to offer players an experience built around their freedom, immersive detail, and a visceral combat system where every strike carries consequence.
The newly released demo gives players their first chance to experience the brutal combat. Spread across five distinct arena scenarios, the demo allows players to take control of three pre-made characters and face battles where precision determines survival. Players can target limbs to disable enemies, dismemberment leaves lasting scars, and every wound lingers throughout the fight. Dynamic environmental interactions enhance this system, as falling trees, spreading fire, and other hazards can alter the course of battles. Although limited to arena encounters, the demo offers a concentrated look at the foundation of Sword Hero’s combat design.
Looking beyond the demo, Sword Hero promises a vast and untamed open world set on the island of Wes. The full game will focus on players’ choices, where they are able to align with one of three factions. They will get to rise through the ranks or carve out their own path as mercenaries or exiles. The world is unforgiving and unscaled, wolves remain deadly, giants remain towering, and the island itself remembers the player’s actions. NPCs live out their own routines, corpses decay where they fall, and scars, prosthetics, and body transformations ensure each journey feels singular. Sword Hero aims to deliver an RPG experience where freedom, consequence, and survival define every step.
