Rogue Cave Will Ride the Cart Onto Steam Later This Month

Descend Into the Rogue Cave

Rogue Gecko has revealed that its newest indie project, Rogue Cave, will be arriving on Steam on September 29. The studio promises a fast-paced underground journey where players take control of a mine cart, armed with a trusty mine gun, and push deeper into a mysterious cave system.

Rogue Cave

The adventure begins with a simple ride through the tunnels, but the cart never stops moving. Players must collect resources along the way, blasting through obstacles while keeping a sharp eye on their ammo. Careful aim can make the difference between survival and defeat, with even a single bullet offering the chance to regain momentum and chain combos into hundreds of rounds.

Players tie their progress to leveling up during each descent. They gather glowing EXP crystals to unlock perks that transform their builds, ranging from run-saving utilities to powerful new abilities. With reroll options and synergizing perks, players ensure that no two runs are the same, keeping the game fresh and unpredictable.

The caves are procedurally generated, offering different stages each time. It ranges from icy caverns to mushroom-filled groves and fiery volcanic chambers. Along the way, players encounter quirky cave dwellers, ranging from harmless animals to more menacing threats, such as snakes clinging to the ceiling, all ready to disrupt the journey.

Outside of each run, progress carries forward through a sprawling upgrade tree. Gold mined during expeditions can be spent on new guns, cosmetics, and permanent upgrades that shape future attempts. With every unlock, the cave reveals more layers to explore, encouraging experimentation and mastery.

Rogue Cave is shaping up to be an inventive blend of cart riding action, resource management, and roguelike depth, inviting players to test their skills when it launches later this September.
