Kinsfolk Is Planned for Release in Q4 2025

Relax and Explore in Kinsfolk

Indie developer Vinko Kodzoman has announced that Kinsfolk, his emotional story-driven adventure, will release in late 2025 on PC via Steam. The game might get full support for the Steam Deck as well. Not only that, but a console release may follow depending on reception.

Developed over the past two years during spare hours outside of a full-time job, Kinsfolk is a deeply personal project. It draws inspiration from the landscapes and atmosphere of the creator’s upbringing in Croatia. All while emphasizing mood, storytelling, and emotion over challenge.

At its heart, Kinsfolk is a short single-player adventure about fatherhood and family. Players embark on a journey to uncover memories of the past, guided by music, voice, and visuals designed to immerse them in a world meant to be felt rather than conquered. There are no failure states, only exploration, discovery, and reflection.

The game features original music from composer Josh Kashdan, with full voice acting provided by Luke deMaine. Scattered throughout the world are vignettes, story fragments that you can relive. This introduces unique mechanics and perspectives as players learn more about the past. Inspired by the structure of What Remains of Edith Finch, these sequences form the backbone of the emotional experience.

Kinsfolk aims to deliver a powerful, condensed journey that resonates long after the credits roll in roughly two hours of playtime. Moreover, a free demo is already available, giving players an early glimpse and offering the developer valuable feedback to refine the final release. The game launches in Q4 2025, inviting players to step into an atmospheric world that explores the meaning of family, memory, and connection.
