Australia Did It Goes Reverse Bullet HellÂ
Innovation in gaming often leads to some of the best games. Taking risks is sometimes the best thing that a developer can do. In fact, sometimes, taking risks creates a whole new genre. Today, Rami Ismail and Mystic Forge are happy to announce their upcoming genre-bending game, Australia Did It. Inviting players to an action-packed experience that blends both tower defense and bullet hell strategy, the game aims to provide a smaller but more unique experience. A press release provides more details on the game as well as insights from Rami Ismail. Additionally, a reveal trailer provides players with a glimpse of the game.Â

Australia Did It allows players to take control of a train station. Set within a drained Atlantic Basin in Australia following a cataclysmic event, players act as mercenaries. Of course, it’s not an apocalypse without horrific monsters. As such, it falls to the player to build enough defenses to defend the train station from waves of monstrosities. However, once the train gets going, the game will transition from a tower defense that plays like a fast game of chess, to a bullet hell. That’s right, once the train is on the move, players will engage in fast-real time combat where players need to mow down hordes of enemies and keep the cargo safe.Â
“I had very low hopes for this odd prototype I’d been playing with,” says Ismail, “but when I showed it to Mystic Forge, they didn’t even flinch at the experimental genre mix, wrote the check for a small development cycle, and supported us throughout development.”
Australia Did Itwill be available on PC via Steam later this year.
