New Map and Hero Coming to Across the Obelisk
Paradox Interactive and Dreamsite Games have revealed two free updates for their co-op deckbuilding roguelite, Across the Obelisk. The first, titled Threads of Dreams, will arrive on September 22, 2025, introducing a dreamlike new map that twists perception and memory. The second update, scheduled for October, will add a brand new playable hero, expanding the game’s roster and strategies. Both updates will be available on Steam for PC players.

Threads of Dreams transports adventurers to a surreal region where reality blurs with imagination. Paths shift with dream logic, events shimmer with uncertainty, and memories reshape the world itself. This ethereal setting offers a seamless detour, letting players drop into any run without preparation. To mark the launch, the base game will receive a limited-time discount of up to 50% on Steam.
The new map carries a distinct atmosphere, offering fresh narrative events and rewards that enrich every run. Two innovative combat mechanics join the experience: Sleep, which causes affected units to skip their turns while doubling incoming debuffs, and Illusion, which creates perfect copies of units. These clones mirror the stats and abilities of their originals but can be exposed and take extra damage once revealed.
October’s update will bring a free hero, promising fresh deck-building options and strategies to master. This addition builds on the game’s reputation for blending cooperative teamwork with tactical experimentation, offering players a new way to shape their adventures.
With Threads of Dreams and the upcoming hero, Across the Obelisk continues to evolve, keeping its world alive with surprises and challenges that invite players to return and explore once again.
